WESTERNOVÁ ZBARVENÍ KONÍ
BROWN
= Tmavý hnědák
Otrocky přeloženy by znamenalo tento odstín popsat jen jako hnědáka, ale podle angličtiny jsou takto označeni koně s tmavě hnědou až černou srstí se světlejšími oblastmi (pálením) kolem huby, očí, na slabinách a na vnitřní straně horní části končetin. Ocas a hříva jsou černé.
BAY
= Světlý hnědák

SORREL
= Ryzák
Barva srsti rezavá nebo rezavá s měděným nádechem, přičemž hříva a ocas mají obvykle stejnou barvu jako srst. Mohou být ovšem i světlejšího odstínu, případně kombinované
CHESTNUT
= Tmavý ryzák
Velmi matoucí název barvy, protože v češtině značí kaštan a občas se překládá jako "hnědák" bez dalšího rozlišení. Přitom se jedná o temně rezavou až hnědorezavou, játrově hnědou barvu. Ocas a hříva jsou obvykle ve stejném odstínu jako srst, ale mohou být i světlejší nebo kombinované.
BLACK
= Vraník
Chlupy v srsti jsou dokonale černě bez hnědého nádechu a bez jakýchkoli světlejších oblastí po těle. Hříva a ocas jsou černé. Jedná se o poměrně vzácnou barvu(poslední obrázek v příspěvku)
DUN

GRULLO
= Myšák
Chlupy na těle mají kouřovou nebo myší barvu. Nejde o směs černých a bílých chlupů, ale každý jednotlivý chloupek musí být šedý. Hříva a ocas jsou černé a časo jsou černé i nohy. Grullo má úhoří pruh.
APPALOOSA
Existuje 5 uznaných barevných rázů plemene appaloosa,všichni skvrnití koně však nejsou příslušníky tohoto plemene.Barvy jsou následující: blanket,leopard,sněhová vločka (snowflake) a frost (tzv.jinovatka)
